Keiren: The Riftwall? I thought it didn't work?
Adira: It does! But it went to a place I'd never seen before. Hundreds of them went through.
Keiren: Into the city?!
Adira: No, out!
Keiren: …The prisoners of the war! The wolfpen. They smuggled all the wolves out!
Adira: I suppose they did.
Keiren: Why are you still here? Why didn't they just take you?
Adira: They were still waiting for someone else to arrive. Their leader, I guess. They needed me here. This Riftwall only responds to its owner. I have no doubt if the stragglers hadn't been taking forever… I'd certainly be gone by now.
Keiren: That's a relief, at least…
Keiren: Uh… I should mention, we have your daughter!
Adira: My… oh, you do?! Where is she?! I've been so worried!
Keiren: …She's okay. Mira is back at the station. Your daughter's a brave girl.
Adira: Oh, thank the starts! You don't know how relieved I am to hear that my little Mira's safe.
